Asif Zahir the new Chairman of National Finance Ltd

National Finance Ltd., one of Bangladesh’s premier financial institutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Asif Zahir as the new Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Zahir brings a remarkable dimension of experience and leadership to his new role. Asif Zahir is the Deputy Managing Director of Ananta Group, one of the leading conglomerates in Bangladesh engaged in the Apparel and Textile Manufacturing, Real Estate, Digital Commerce and Financial Services sectors.

Asif is part of the executive leadership team of Ananta Apparels Ltd, one of the largest exporters of Apparel and Textiles in Bangladesh with revenues of $400 million and employing over 30,000 people. Ananta Apparels is engaged in the production of jeans, suits, outerwear, lingerie, activewear and sweaters to leading retailers in the US and EU markets.

Asif is also Founder and Managing Director, Sindabad.com Ltd, one of the largest B2B focused e-commerce marketplaces in Bangladesh. Mr. Zahir’s professional journey includes experience in the United States as a Product Manager at Google, Inc., where he specialized in developing applications for the Android mobile operating platform. His achievements in the tech industry highlight his strategic vision and expertise.

Mr. Zahir graduated from Stanford University USA with a degree in Computer Science, where he was recognized as a President's Scholar and a Mayfield Fellow. He furthered his education with an MBA from Harvard University USA. In 2019, he was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF), reflecting his significant contributions and leadership in his field.
